We highly recommend the Tricel Novo package sewage treatment plants, which we both supply and install. These systems are renowned for their high-quality wastewater treatment and are specifically designed to comply with the latest standards recognized by the Environment Agency and Building Regulations.

The Tricel Novo is constructed using advanced glass-reinforced plastic techniques, specifically Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC), which results in one of the strongest tank structures available on the market. When installed by our team, like all our sewage treatment plants, it is placed below ground with concrete backfill to ensure optimal stability and long-term performance. For your peace of mind, the Tricel Novo comes with a twenty-year tank structure warranty from the manufacturer, offering significant reassurance that these treatment systems are built to last.

We ensure that all treatment systems we install are correctly sized for the appropriate population equivalent, whether for a domestic property or commercial premises. Tricel offers a variety of package sewage treatment plant systems to meet your specific requirements, catering to populations ranging from 6 to 50, providing an effective off-mains drainage solution.

Tricel installation

How it Works

The treatment process utilises the submerged aerated media technology, fostering an optimal environment for effective treatment. This three-chamber process is designed to maintain solids and bacteria in suspension prior to the settlement of the treated effluent, which is then discharged into a watercourse or drainage field.

Stage 1: The primary settlement chamber

In the initial stage, anaerobic breakdown occurs within the primary settlement chamber. Wastewater is introduced into this chamber, allowing solid materials to settle at the bottom, thereby separating them from the liquid.

Stage 2: The aeration chamber

Following the primary settlement, the wastewater moves to the aeration chamber for aerobic breakdown. This chamber contains specially designed filter media that hosts masses of naturally occurring bacteria. These bacteria are continuously supplied with air from a purpose-built pump located in the unit’s top section. As the liquid slowly flows through the filter media, the bacteria consume and remove waste from the liquid.

Stage 3: Final settlement chamber

The final stage involves the liquid flowing from the aeration chamber into the final settlement chamber. Here, suspended sludge, consisting of bacteria, is carried with the liquid and settles at the bottom. A continuous sludge return system then pumps this sludge back to the primary settlement chamber. The remaining treated liquid, having met the required standards, is then safely discharged from the Tricel system.

The Advantages

Tricel treatment systems have low maintenance and running costs, and are easy to de-sludge. They are quiet in operation, and underground installation therefore minimizes the  visual impact.
