Our routine maintenance checks by an Infinity Environmental engineer help ensure the longevity of your Klargester BioDisc and identify common wear-and-tear components.
The bearings within these units are wearable parts that require periodic replacement. Since the rotating biological contactor discs turn on these bearings continuously, we typically recommend replacement by one of our wastewater servicing engineers every three to five years, or as soon as signs of wear appear during your annual service.
When bearing bushes become worn, the shaft can become unstable. If left unaddressed, this instability can lead to operational issues and potentially cause the system to fail completely. We recommend monitoring these components closely during your scheduled maintenance to ensure the continued reliability of your unit.
Please let us know if you would like to schedule a service visit or if you have any questions regarding the mechanical health of your system.

We recently completed a challenging installation project in Iken, near Rendlesham, that required specialized methods due to significant groundwater and unstable ground conditions. We were approached by a customer based on a recommendation, specifically because of the high water table in the area.
Considerable effort was invested in the construction of a sheet shuttering system. Our engineers meticulously piled the sheets into the ground, locking them together to create a robust sheet-piled wall on all four sides of the excavation. Throughout the process, constant de-watering of the excavation was necessary to facilitate concrete backfill and ensure proper separation from the high water table.
Thanks to the expertise and innovative approaches of our experienced civil engineers, the Tricel Novo sewage treatment plant was successfully installed, even under these demanding conditions. This project highlights our capability to manage complex installations where conventional methods are not feasible.

Client Testimonial

When we discovered that our newly acquired Grade 2 listed cottage had a cess pit instead of a septic tank, as we had originally thought, I started to research for solutions on the internet. The old pit seemed to allow groundwater to seep in, but there was no flow the other way, meaning frequent emptying even though we were very careful. Along with a low point on the property which flooded in heavy rain, we needed to find permanent solutions to the problems. The responses to my enquiries to various companies fell into three categories;

  • failure to respond to answerphone messages left outlining the problems and requesting a visit
  • failure to turn up to agreed inspections of the property
  • phone discussions, no visit offered, to the effect that no solution was possible with no access to a ditch or field.

When I found Infinity Environmental, Mr Billy Barry arranged a visit and afterwards came up with potential solutions to both problems. He offered to liaise with and apply for the necessary permit from the Environmental Agency to discharge treated effluent into a borehole, having to modify the proposal after initial contact with them, and has now installed a water treatment plant and groundwater/roof water drainage system which has been inspected and passed by the Suffolk Building inspection team. The work has been well planned, carried out efficiently to the agreed schedule and with due regard to the nature and character of our cottage: the cost exactly as per quote. Having been present at the beginning of each of the two stages of the project, we have been amazed on our return at the way that the garden has been largely restored to its original state (a patch of bare earth remains which Billy has seeded).  The systems are now up and running, we are self-sufficient and environmentally friendly! We have no hesitation at all in recommending Infinity Environmental and are very grateful that Billy had the willingness and initiative to take the job on.

Replacement off mains drainage system in Chelmsford.

Today we are installing Tricel Novo in Boreham, Chelmsford. The works involved de-commissioning the existing septic tank and relocating the new off mains drainage system.

We are finding the recent dry weather are making ground conditions hard for digging specially being clay. No wonder the soakaway was failing and no way the soakaway could function in solid clay. Our alternative solution recommended to the customer was to install new package sewage treatment plant and discharge treated effluent to nearby stream. The benefits of new sewage treatment plant were to overcome poor ground conditions with odourless operation.

On selecting the right sewage treatment plant the Tricel Novo was the preferred choice to the customers with good feedback from the neighbours and recommend by us the installer. The sewage treatment plant was sized in accordance with ‘British Water Flows and Loads – Part 4’ and system based upon maximum population being 7 population for 5-bedroom property.

The installation on the new sewage treatment plant will be in the front garden. It would allow easy access to empty the system within 30 meters of the road on annual bases along with routine service. The works are expected to take 5 days and with weather looking good for this week we should be out the way for the weekend.

If you are experiencing septic tank problems are currently undertaking new build we off free site inspection. From visual inspection, we can tell a lot from our experience and usual tell-tale signs are easily found on problem septic tanks. If you need specialist advice please do not hesitate to contact us on 01206 890222 or contact page and one of our advisers will get back to you soon as possible.

Installing Septic Tank: Concrete Surround

Excavation

Before installation commences Infinity Environmental plan excavation to meet health and safety requirements. To make sure the installation process is safe as possible the excavation might require shuttering or excavating at ‘safe’ angle.

Installing any type of septic tank we follow the manufactures minimum surround thickness. The excavation would have to take into account any shuttering used.

Different ground conditions can make huge impact on the size of the excavation. Stable ground condition such as clay would make installation dimensions standard, or over- excavation might be necessary e.g running sand.

Buoyancy and Anchoring

The dimension of concrete surround can differ from manufactures specification if septic tanks are installed in high water table area. Our team can advise on installation the additional thickness of concrete surround based upon the flotation factor and mass concrete density.

Type of Concrete

The type of concrete mix to surround the tank is based upon the manufactures specifications and site conditions. The amount of concrete required is based upon the size of the tank and site conditions determining the size of the excavation.

In good ground conditions, we recommend 28 day compression strength of 20 to 30 N/mm2 with 50mm slump, complying to the relevant BS EN standard. If ground conditions are not suitable for the standard concrete mix our specialists will take into account aggressive soil types, structural applications, and calculate the right mix for your installation.

Impact of Concrete on Back Filling the Tank

On back filling the tank with concrete the discharge impacts are considerable. The impact of concrete back fill must not exceed 15 KN/M2 on the septic tank commonly known as ‘Vessel’. Under no circumstances should concrete be discharged directly onto the tank.

Our Installation Service

All our septic tank installation for underground tanks only use concrete back fill. Please contact the specialist to ensure your installation is a success.

Klargester BE sewage treatment plant installation

Commercial Sewage Treatment Plant Installation

Architect approached us through the website on the design and installation of replacement commercial sewage treatment plant in Great Dunmow. The existing sewage treatment plant system was serving several properties and discharging 400 meters by gravity fall to watercourse. Replacement sewage treatment plant was necessary to serve additional property on the grounds.

On sizing the new commercial sewage treatment plant, we complied to ‘British water flows and loads – part 4’ to calculate the correct population for the project. The chosen sewage treatment plant for replacement was the Klargester BE suitable for up to 35 population. We liaised with Braintree District Council to organize local building inspector to visit the works at different stages for replacement system.

The works involved removing the existing sewage treatment plant were extensive. The tank was emptied prior to removal, breaker was used to remove the concrete surround around the existing sewage treatment plant, removal of contaminated waste from site, and further tank emptying was required until the several properties were connected to new sewage treatment plant the following day.

Laser level played key part in installation with only a tolerance of 145 mm between drain run and outlet connection. The 16-tonne excavator made light work of installation. Concrete base was leveled within 10 mm tolerance to archive the correct drain run depth and allow gravity discharge to existing outlet. The levels were doubled checked before back filling the sewage treatment plant with concrete.

The commercial sewage treatment plant was commissioned the following morning. From start to finish the works undertaken took 5 days to complete and replacement system installed within 24 hours. Minimal inconvenience was caused to the residents through careful planning carried out by Infinity Environmental. If you are looking for new or replacement commercial sewage treatment plant please do not hesitate to contact us.

Tricel Novo

Tricel range of sewage treatment plants offer variety of sizes from 6 population to 50 for domestic or commercial applications. They have obtained the latest EN Standard recognized by all local authorities including the Environment Agency.

Tricel manufacturing techniques are made from one of the most strongest glass reinforced plastic materils on the market, known as SMS. The quality and durability of product makes a very robust package sewage treatment plant. The high standard set from the manufacturing process and outstanding treatment method makes the Tricel Novo excellent value for money.

Key features & benefits

  • No moving parts involved in the treatment process.
  • Complies to the latest EN12566-3 standard.
  • Unique ceramic diffuser for longer lifespan.
  • Minimal visula impact.
  • Quiet in operation.
  • Latest manufacturing techiniques (compression moulded SMS tank)

Treatment Process

The Tricel treatment process is 3 stage process known as submerged aerated filter. Latest treatment technology is used throughout the Tricel to create biological environment for wastewater treatment.

Stage 1: primary settlement chamber

Wastewater enters the primary chamber for anaerobic breakdown and settlement. The solid sink to the bottom of the primary chamber leaving the liquids seperated.

Stage 2: aeartion chamber

The second stage involes aerobic bacteria for treatment of wastewater. The right environment is created from aerated media where naturally occurring bacteria are produced. The airated water is constantly provided by air blower situated in housing above the sewage treatment plant.

Stage 3: final settlement chamber

The final stage of the Tricel Novo is the settlement chamber. The settlement chamber allows for any supended sludge consiting of bacteria to sink to the bottom of the chamber. Air driven airlift pumps the sludge back to the first chamber. The clean effulent at the top of the settlement chamber exits the sewage treatment plant to drainage field or suitable watercoures if suitable.

Installing the New HDPE Conder ASP Package Sewage Treatment Plant in Maldon.

The popular Conder ASP range of sewage treatment plants ready for installation today in Maldon. The homeowner approached us through the website to replace the existing failing septic for a modern package sewage treatment plant to comply with the latest building regulations. The main advantages of the HDPE Conder ASP package sewage treatment plant are:

  • No odour produced;
  • Minimal visual impact;
  • Quiet operation;
  • Tested to the latest EN12566-3 standard;
  • Compliant to the Environment Agency General Binding Rules;
  • Latest sewage treatment technology;

The works involved are to relocate the sewage treatment plant to new position more suitable for annual emptying and servicing. Once the sewage treatment plant is installed we can concentrate on redirecting the drain run. We plan to trench the new drain run back towards the property and make the connection at the property at the end of the day. The main advantage of having the new drainage pipework in place is to cause minimal disturbance to the customer on transferring wastewater from existing septic tank to the new sewage treatment plant installation. On making the last connection for transfer it would averagely take 20 minutes to change over and would be able to use all amenities as normal.

The discharge from the sewage treatment plant is made by pumped outlet as gravity fall could not be achieved due to the gradient of the land being elevated. The existing septic tank discharge was made by gravity to drainage field commonly known as soakaway and poor ground conditions did not allow the clarified effluent to soakaway. The main advantage of the new package sewage treatment plant allows the treated effluent to enter suitable watercourse and overcomes poor ground conditions we are finding in Maldon.

The Conder ASP comes with variety of option with gravity or pumped outlets available, risers to suit different drain run depths, and range of sizes from 6 population through to 25 population. If you would like further information on supply or installation please contact the specialists on 01206 89022 or complete our website submission form on the contact us page.
